Juniper has been known since ancient times above all for its purifying and antiseptic properties. In fact, it was used to disinfect ships coming from areas where epidemics had occurred.
Small tree no higher than 5-6 meters, or shrub of variable size with dark green needle-like leaves, which produces small green berries the first year and black later. It grows spontaneously in all areas of our country, from the sea to the mountains. It is also used for the production of Gin.
The essential oil is obtained from the galbuli with the steam distillation method and an almost colorless straw yellow liquid is obtained which gives off an intense balsamic scent.
