CYPRESS ESSENTIAL OIL
Evergreen tree with pyramidal crown that can reach 50 meters in height with small opposite leaves in scales, flowers gathered to form inflorescences and a conical fruit. This conifer typical of the Mediterranean areas is often used for ornamental purposes. In Rome, according to Pliny, when a daughter was born a cypress was planted, as a wish that she would soon find a husband.
The essential oil is obtained from the needles and young twigs with the steam distillation method, a greenish-yellow liquid with an intense balsamic fragrance is obtained.
