Folk medicine considers the flowers of Cananga Odorata aphrodisiacs, so much so that in some villages the nuptial thalamus is still sprinkled with their petals. Typical tree of tropical climates that can reach 20 meters in height. It has leaves that can be both pink and yellow with a corolla divided into numerous narrow and long petals.
It is native to tropical Asia and is widely cultivated in Java, Sumatra and Madagascar.
The essential oil is obtained from fresh flowers with the steam distillation method and a straw yellow liquid is obtained with a delicate scent reminiscent of jasmine.
